People Don’t Quit Jobs

You whine and complain.

Because no one listens.

You do not speak.

You realize this.

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

Throwing a tantrum because people can’t read your mind?

I roll my eyes at you.

You stomp your feet because people walk on them.

Yet you create no boundaries.

You don’t even move your damn feet out of the way.

Or trip up the offense.

I roll my eyes at you.

You somehow kiss the right ass.

Authority handed to you on a silver platter.

And then expect pity when it becomes obvious to all.

You’re a hot mess.

You don’t deserve it.

You don’t know what you’re doing.

And you even admit as such.

Use it as a crutch.

Go easy on you.

Because you can’t hack it?

I roll my eyes at you.

Oh yes.

Especially you.

When you realize.

You have lost your audience.

You decide then.

To be a big kid.

And mistake being a bully.

An asshole.

An aggressive, passive aggressive.

You mistake all of that.

As exercising authority.

The big boss.

Puff that chest.

Fall in line.

I roll my eyes at you.

Let’s face it.

You choose being liked.

Over being respected.

You choose center stage.

With your name in lights.

You want that empty applause.

No matter what the cost.

Do you not see the irony in this?

Desperate for love.

Makes you less lovable.

I would rather not like you.

And respect you.

It makes me cringe.

To not like you.

And not respect you.

At the same time.

Give me one.

Give me something to work with.

You know what?

This is just as much my fault.

As it is yours.

And so.

I roll my eyes.

Present to you…

My notice.

  1. This was amazing Cavelle! Hitting hard, speaking so so much, this is actually the best answer to the situation you’re describing here. And I loved the ending, it’s the perfect answer. You’re speaking for the masses here and I like that. Loved this ❤❤

    • Thanks, AB!😊❤ Lol yeah this poem is based on at least one boss we’ve all worked for at some point for sure! Sadly, I believe there are more bosses/management that act this way than not and so I play this scenario out in my head a lot! Lol Cheers! 🌸
